Andrea Harvey Celebrates Two Years on 1 Main Street

ASH Interiors & Design recently celebrated their 2 year anniversary of their brick & mortar studio in Historic Ellicott City, MD. This studio is where Andrea has grown and thrived over the past two years, making it the most successful out of her 22 years in business. Andrea is an interior designer with a focus mainly on kitchen and bath, as well as being a certified aging-in-place specialist. She’s also a speaker and presenter and has been sharing her knowledge of luxury design and products in the industry through seminars and podcasts. She defines her styles as simple, elegant, and clean. Andrea loves designing with black walls, adding tonal elements that are consistent throughout every space of a project.

1 Main Street is the home to Andrea’s business, and has been where her business has evolved immensely. She currently has 16 ongoing projects around the country and several high profile projects that have recently wrapped up. Most recently, Andrea has completed projects with Gloria Mayfield Banks, who is the #1 saleswoman for Mary Kay, and was also the lead designer for all units within a luxury condo building in Washington DC. Andrea also will be launching a new avenue of her business, a curated antiques collection. Today, she reflects on what has helped her succeed and the lessons learned along the way.

Many Lessons Learned

As an experienced interior designer, Andrea has learned to focus on quality versus quantity. She values clients who allow her design style to flourish- making the end results beautiful and something Andrea is proud of. At one point in her career, she was a “say yes to everything” person. Now, she has evolved to become more selective with her projects. That means sometimes turning down projects that don’t align with her values of design style, staying true to her goals and authenticity. Now, when she feels like the design differences are too big, she kindly recommends another designer.

Antiquing- A New Journey

Andrea recently visited France several times where she embarked on a sourcing trip with the Antiques Diva herself, Toma Clarke Hayes. Andrea carefully selected a number of vintage pieces that will now be part of her newest collection available for purchase through her studio. She plans to host pop-ups and bring other creators into the fold as well!
